MariƩ Digby

*Looks up towards the sky with 2 thumbs up*

GOOD JOB !

Marie Digby, (pronounced Mar-ee-ay)

Half Japanese, half Irish-American,

Plays the guitar AND the piano (from what i've seen),

Writes her own songs, (which are very good in my opinion)

Half of you blokes won't even notice the writings in between these pictures,

And yes, that is indeed a bathtub behind her.

A few notes;
On top all of the above,
She also plays tennis
She also wears boots
She also LOVES her guitar
I mean its FATE!

p.s. Unfold is my favourite.

Jobless No More

Yes, I finally managed to obtain a 9 to 5 job.
(well, 8.30 to 5.30 actually).

No longer just sitting and waiting for those long term projects to bring in the mulah.
NOW I get mulah every month :D

Working has made me realise that having a day job is like having a second life.
You are someone at work and someone else at home.

I think this is where people start getting all stressed up.
You're getting twice amount of stress while only retaining the one life to endure it all.

Unless of course, you LOVE your job.
Then there won't be much or any stress at all,
the end of the day would just be another tiring yet fulfilling day.

For now, I can't say whether or not I like my job.
(Still in the training stage).
BUT so far so good.

CC's Sis's Wedding

Second Chinese wedding,
but the first one with my name specifically on the invitation list ^^

Favourite dish : oOOoh Chinese Pancake like thingy that isn't pancake in the form of small fruits.
Favourite song : None
Favourite moment : Got to meet up with ALOT of old high school teachers.

Highly appreciate being invited to such a swank wedding ceremony.

The funny thing though, the more weddings I go to,
the less worried I am about getting hitched.

The "worries" I had before are blurring out and seem so far,
its as if a cloak of serenity had enveloped me,

BUT THEN AGAIN,
its probably because i'm still single !
HAHAHAHHAHAHA burn!
(yea ok I burned myself there abit.)

p.s. Congratulations CC's Sister !

CherryPoP - Malay Wedding

Not my first malay wedding,
but definitely the first one with my name specifically on the invitation list
(outside of family).
Yeap, had MY name on the invitation card.
Thus making it my first wedding invitation card with my name on it ^^

Favourite dish : Rice and beef.
(not too familiar with malay dishes, but I always fancied that particular type of rice they serve at weddings)
Favourite song : None
Favourite moment : When W.H. spotted my shoes.
Didn't see any chiques while I was there : (
Kev and Shaz were there.
Swapped wedding gifts with Kev initially but after surveying our immediate vicinity we decided to swap back ^^.

p.s. Congratulations Deena!

The Nine - It's been Awhile

Met up with most of "The Nine".

Everybody was pretty much the same, except for Rish's hair.
Must be a bad hair day.
BUT hey, who am I to complain about bad hair huh : p

Came late to the gathering (apparently thats usual).

Everybody is busy doing their thing,
some are waiting replies for big projects to come in,
some are already working in MNC's,
some finishing their masters degree,
while others are juggling both work and study.
I on the other hand am still bumming around.
(Heheh or so it may appear to you who are unaware)
Planning to plan a movie outing.
Yes, "planning to plan".
Movie : 300.
Time: 8th March 2007
Venue: GSC 1 Utama New Wing

So all you people who actually read my blog,
yes,
i'm talking about the 2 or 3 of you who have NBTD.
Don't hesitate to drop a line if you are interested in joining.

Bad Guy: "Our arrows will block out the sun."
Good Guy: "Then we shall fight in the shade."

p.s. Happy Birthday Deena!
p.s.s. her birthday is actually on the 29th of February but I couldn't find a 29th of February this year in the calendar ... so yeah.

Happy Anniversary !

Happy Birthday Lazy Guy!

Today marks the 1st year anniversary of this quite and inconsistently updated blog.
Coincidently it falls on the same day as Chinese New Years this year.

So thats double celebration!

Was thinking of revamping the site in light of the blog being 1 year old,
but decided that I should instead do something more productive.

Since there were no new years resolution back in January,
I thought it would be great if I had one since its BOTH
The blogs One Year Anniversary AND
Chinese New Year.

SO 2007 resolution :-

Try to make better use of time.

*'Try' being the key word here.

p.s. Thank you to those who wished me.

p.s.s. don't worry about it,
I know because of this years circumstances,
some of us were merely too busy.
Family first, I wouldn't have it any other way.

Le Tour de Langkawi 2007 - Stage 10

K.L. Criterium.
Starts and ends next to Dataran Merdeka.

Loddo won the stage ... AGAIN!
Making it his 5th win out of 10 stages this year.

BUT Charteau managed to maintain the yellow jersey,
making him the top rider in the General Classification Table.

Had breakfast with Koji on that morning and he can really speak Bahasa Malaysia,
well the basic necessities at least.

Really nice guy, very humble.
Even though communication was difficult he always tried to keep the conversation going.
Gave all of us at the table a picture of him in one of his races and even took the time to sign them all.

The last stage went on fairly smoothly,
no one got injured(to my knowledge),
and there were many people there.

I was quite worried about the size of the crowd at the beginning,
but once the weather cooled down,
people started populating the side of the roads,
and was soon cheering as the riders zoomed by.

So that wraps up the Le Tour de Langkawi 2007 stages,
BUT there is still the task of sending teams back and doing the postmortem report.
So even though there is still work to be done,
a huge chunk of the burden some of us were carrying are slowly dissipating.

p.s.
I was thinking of posting up pictures when I got back home,
but now that I think of how much work that involved,
I just might scratch that thought.

Le Tour de Langkawi 2007 - Stage 9

Putrajaya to Seremban.
Pavel Brutt from Tinkoff won this stage.
This particular stage has 3 Sprints and 3 KoMs.
Spanning 173.1 KM.

Just imagine undertaking all that under the HOT sun.
Putrajaya wasn't so bad, the occasional winds made the weather bearable,
but in Seremban, it was scorching hot.
and on TOP of that we just got down from genting.
So the difference in weather was really felt.

Luckily there was the Race Headquarters.
Where I again, sat down posing with the driver at the front of the bus X (

Le Tour de Langkawi 2007 - Stage 8

Proton Shah Alam to Genting Highlands.
1st and 2nd placing was dominated by Serramenti PVC Diquigiovanni team.

Missed this stage as well,
after settling a few things in KL went straight up to Genting.

Genting was very noisy,
and felt very chaotic.
The weather was better cause it wasn't as cold as it was in Cameron.

The food served was below par,
it might've been better in other places on genting,
but the one we went to for dinner and breakfast wasn't good.

BUT hey, we did have alot of fun while we were there.
Had a traditional bowling competition amongst the calvacade people.
Some of the other people who didn't bowl, caught one of the shows.

Bowling score - 54.
I'm blaming the cold weather.

Le Tour de Langkawi 2007 - Stage 7

Kuantan to Karak.
Shinichi Fukushima won this stage.
Putting him on top of the Asian Rider Overall List.

Wasn't at the start nor the end of the race.
So I totally missed this stage.
Had other urgent matters back in the capital city.

So from what I heard, Karak was freaggin hot.
Being close to home, I took the opportunity to get fresh clothes and send the dirty ones for laundry.
Going to be the first day in many since I graced the ever soft and comfortable comforts of my comforter.

Le Tour de Langkawi 2007 - Stage 6

Correction : Yellow jersey is worn by the person who is leading the Tour and not just by winning that particular stage.
The person that wins the stage adorns the TM blue jersey.

Nothing much today from what I know,
but i'm sure today's race will look beautiful on T.V.
This is because of wind blowing sideways the bunch will go into certain formations to reduce the wind drag.
Between KM88 and KM100 the went very fast in one lane and were divided in 4 echelons.

At the starting line, Koji Fukushima spoke in what I believe to be something in a Kelantan slang.
Cause I sure didn't understand him, but the crowd did.
He was also kind enough to play the theme song from Doraemon on his harmonica.

Oh Loddo won the stage this time ... again.
Making it his 4th Stage win in these 6 Stages.

Le Tour de Langkawi 2007 - Stage 5

Kota Bharu to Kuala Terengganu
Pretty much a straight route with 3 Sprints.

The stage started with 127 riders down from 137.
Most of the riders finished together in a bunch on this stage.
Loddo won this stage.
BUT somehow Charteau has the overall position,
leading Pedraza by 4 minutes.

I think it has to do with the huge gap in time on Stage 4.

Oh and the podium girls are back 8 )

Because we ended(Stg 4) and started(Stg 5) in kota bharu KELANTAN,
the podium girls were not present on the stage.

They all had to camp in the Secretariate bus : (

The very same one I was camping in ; )

BUT as usual I was to "shy" to do anything = (

So I ended up posing at the front of the bus with the driver X (

**CAS-WTFPWNED**

p.s. Before I forget,

Stage 8 is from Shah Alam to Genting Highlands
Stage 9 is from Putrajaya to Seremban and
Stage 10 is in Kuala Lumpur.

SO BE PREPARED FOR JAM!

Le Tour de Langkawi 2007 - Stage 4

Dinner was good as usual.
Cause of the number of foreigners here, the menu throughout the tour is mostly western cuisines.
Had the privilege to dine with the Official Tour Chef.

This guy goes around with us, visiting the various kitchens of the various hotels the we are staying in and advise on the kind of food that we eat.
Hehehe, maybe if I buddy buddy with him he can maybe slip in a few of my favourite dishes.

So 4th Stage, Gua Musang to Kota Bahru.
Loddo took the yellow jersey again.
2 cyclists got injured near the finish line when someone tumbled in the middle of the bunch.

ALOT of school kids were lined up along the road to watch the race.
and they were all like happy and waving and shite....
IN THE FREAGGIN HOT SUN!

RESTEPC!

I was really touched by their enthusiasm,
there's just so much of it,
well its either that or their enjoying the fact that their cutting class and bumming outside with their friends.

Oh and I forgot to mention that Ng Yong Li, our first Malaysian professional cyclist also tumbled taking a sharp corner coming up to Cameron Highlands.
He was in sixth place when he fell off his bike.

In the fall one of his shoes broke and one of his breaks malfunctioned.
So he had to race with one leg pedaling and limited break capacity for about 3km to the finish line.
Finishing at 26th place (if i'm not wrong).

RESTEPC!

Le Tour de Langkawi 2007 - Stage 3

OK, dinner is at 7.30pm
I still have time for one more stage.

This stage took the racers from Kuala Kangsar to the VERY cold Cameron Highlands.

Charteau took the yellow jersey.
Koji took the 2nd placing for the 1st Sprint but tar pau-ed the 2nd and 3rd Sprints.
For the Kom he only got 2nd placing.

Cameron Highlands was REALLY cold.
really reaLLY REALLY REALLY cold.
So cold that the hotel didn't have ac.

At the finishing line, the air conditioned secretariat bus was warmer.

Le Tour de Langkawi 2007 - Stage 2

Richeze won the yellow jersey for this stage.
After the first Sprint, Shinishi Fukushima (Koji's brother) and Sergey Kolesnikov broke off from the main group and cleared a maximum distance of 4'15" from the bunch.

They both fought and Shinishi was able to get the 2nd Sprint and the Kom.
Now I don't really know much about cycling, but if Loddo (guys who won 1st Stage)
didnt have to stop and answer natures call, who might have been able to finish better.
But then again, stopping to piss then managing to get 3rd placing isn't that bad.

Can't really remember which stage it was but there was that one time where the car I was in stumbled unto the Calvacade convoy and they were nice enough to lets us join them.
It was freaggin awesome.
Some 20 odd police bikes were zipping up and down along the convoy,
stopping traffic and making way for the convoy.

We stopped by a petrol station before going unto the highway,
and asked one of the officers about the fuel capacity of the bikes.
It holds up to a whopping RM 75 worth of fuel.

OK so i'm hungry right now ....
will might continue with the rest of the stages after dinner.

Le Tour de Langkawi 2007 - Stage 1

OK now that I finally have some time to blog AND have access to the internet,
here are the interesting bits that I remember from the race and the things around it.

Stage 1
Langkawi
Loddo won the yellow jersey (getting to the finish line first gets you the yellow stage).

Koji Fukushima (my favourite cyclist) tar pau-ed the 3 Sprints and the Kom challenge,
which puts him as 2nd in the overall classification even though he didn't finish top 10 of the stage.

Why I like Koji Fukushima(KF) ?

When asked why he likes Malaysia;

KF: Selamat Pagi!
KF: Saya suka adik-adik kecil
KF: Perempuan cantik
KF: Suka pedas.

He knows 7 languages and i'm not really sure if Bahasa Malaysia is one of them.

Lamka and the 2 strangers

Lamka: They were very nice people. Even though we were strangers, we seemed to get along well.
Grandpa: You will have to learn someday that nothing is as it seems.
Lamka: Wait, I already know that lesson.

Grandpa : Do you ?
Lamka : Yes, i've learned to see past the smoke and water.
Grandpa : Then you should be aware that those 2 were from a Special Branch of the City Guards.
Lamka : Woow ... those 2 ? No way. Wait a minute ... How do YOU know ?
Grandpa : I just do. But worry not young one. They mean no harm.
